Carrier Creation

DIATwinMachinePilotOperation Guides
Create the carrier shape, assemble and position products, then configure the machine and simulate.
Build a carrier product from two existing boards and a parametric shape.
Have a prepared board and the intended board layout and carrier dimensions ready.
Both board positions and heights are checked, and the carrier is available in the product list.
STEP 01
Create a New Carrier in Product. Use Open Project at the root to load the same board twice, then check both board nodes.
STEP 02
Focus the carrier and use Move Board on the second board. Enter the intended position and rotation in Offset mode and check orientation and spacing.
STEP 03
Create a 3D geometry link for the carrier, select a box in Parametric Shape and generate it using the training color and dimensions.
STEP 04
Select each board and use Move Board to set its relative position and Z height. Inspect top and side views to check both boards on the carrier.
STEP 05
Select Workpart at the carrier level and check its dimensions, then inspect the carrier Corner Mount Point and height.
STEP 06
Check the name, ProductCatalog membership and preview in Save to Asset Library, save and verify the carrier name in the result message.
Both board positions and heights are checked, and the carrier is available in the product list.
Mount a saved carrier, set available slots and run auto-configuration and simulation.
Have a carrier product and machine ready. This video focuses on the recipe, not STEP geometry creation.
Carrier assembly, slot constraints and simulation results are checked individually.
STEP 01
Select the machine and Carrier in Create Project and verify that it is the intended carrier product.
STEP 02
Set assembly position, orientation, attachment point and conveyor width. Inspect the carrier and boards relative to the machine in 3D.
STEP 03
Check Lock and Enable states in the machine configuration list. Retain or restrict slots according to the allowed area, then start Auto Configure.
STEP 04
Review feeder and tool suggestions in Auto Configure Result, choose Import and wait for installation. Check the configured positions.
STEP 05
Choose Start in Run Simulation and inspect processing on both boards, Cycle Time and status. Check collision information separately; model appearance alone does not establish clearance.
Carrier assembly, slot constraints and simulation results are checked individually.
Reuse the board layout, replace the parametric carrier with STEP geometry and recheck dimensions.
Prepare the carrier and pcb_holder.stp. The STEP and no-CAD examples have different dimensions and must be checked separately.
STEP geometry, dimensions and saved name are checked; mount references must match the current geometry.
STEP 01
Open the saved carrier and remove the parametric shape being replaced. Choose Import Shape from File on the carrier geometry link and load pcb_holder.stp.
STEP 02
Inspect the imported carrier geometry against both boards. Adjust it with Move Link using coordinates appropriate to this geometry, not a different example.
STEP 03
Check Workpart width, length and thickness at the carrier level, then inspect Corner Mount Point. Use the current data and visible fields; legacy mount coordinates are not automatically validated by this recording.
STEP 04
Check save mode, name, group and preview in Save to Asset Library, then save. Use a new asset name to retain the no-CAD version. Existing limitations for Pick in 3D / Set Seat in 3D still apply.
STEP geometry, dimensions and saved name are checked; mount references must match the current geometry.
