Clone an existing component to create a variant, then check its properties, Connector and equipment relations.
This topic covers component steps 01–06. For the product annotation covered in the second half of the video, continue to Board Annotation .

Prepare component specifications, a BOM CSV (UTF-8 without BOM / CRLF), PNP coordinates, board dimensions and fiducial positions.
This example enters X, Y and RotZ directly; use the data for your own components and board. Dimensional consistency and a full original-versus-clone comparison require separate verification.

Under Electronic Component, open New Component and select Deep Clone.
Set Group to Default Components. Choose a sample with the required shape and click OK.

In Confirm Deep Clone, check the source asset and enter a new component name.
Name this component CAP_DISC_2P_V02. Review the tool, feeder, and group relations to copy.
Click Clone Selected. The notice explains that the first Save creates the preview and a new file.

Enter dimensions based on the actual component, then click GENERATE.
Confirm the Shape generated message, then click USE to apply it to the current component.
Select Appearance for the shape. Adjust Base Color to identify the customized component.

Remove the old box and click Add box from a plane. Select a component surface as the reference plane.
Set the bounding box direction and height. Click Apply and check its coverage.
Review the AMBU Component data. Geometry and Metadata dimensions still require a separate check.
Select Connector. Check and adjust its position and orientation in the 3D view.

Click Save to Library and check the name and target. This updates the new asset created by Deep Clone.
Add Internal Component Group under Group membership, then click OK to save.
Confirm that the asset was saved. Next, configure its tool and feeder relations.

Open Component Relations and select Tool. Review G00101 and click PREVIEW IN 3D.
Switch to Feeder and select Tape_3_Radial. Click PREVIEW IN 3D to check the feeding orientation.
Reopen Component Relations. Load and preview the saved Tool relation.
Switch to Feeder and preview the saved relation. Next: BOM linking and product annotation.
